Alumna Humera Jabir (PC YR 33/2008) discusses feminism and the wearing of the hijab on CBC radio

Humer Jabir (PC YR 33/2008) was interviewed by Sue Smith of CBC radio to discussed feminism and the wearing of the hijab.  In September, at the height of the furor over the Quebec government’s proposed Charter of Values, Humera wrote a blog post for Maisonneuve taking on those who defended the charter on gender equality grounds. "The Hijab is Not a Political Tool" went viral almost immediately, garnering over 6000 Facebook shares, and was reprinted in the Toronto Star. Recently Humera also appeared on CBC radio in response to an open letter by Quebec feminist Janette Bertrand supporting the proposed charter.  You can listen to her segment here
